Why we keep it narrow

A website builder that can do everything does nothing well. We do three kinds of business: hospitality, shops and services. And those properly.

A plate being set down on a table

How it started

Look up ten businesses near you and you see the same thing every time: a site that was delivered neatly once and never opened again. The menu is a PDF from three price changes ago, the opening hours are wrong, and over the holidays there is nothing. Not because the work was poor, but because logging in to a website builder is never top of the list for someone rolling pasta at six.

Why existing builders don't fix this

Wix and Squarespace can do everything, and that's exactly the problem. Being able to do everything means you can also set it up badly, and that your menu is an uploaded file instead of data. You can't search a PDF, translate it, filter it by allergens, or update it with one tap behind the bar.

What we do differently

Your menu is data. Your opening hours are data. That is why one switch can put ten places right at once, why your site can say you are open until ten tonight, and why a guest can order and pay at the table without a middleman in between. And you cannot make it ugly: a fixed set of themes, no free colours, and a builder that looks over your shoulder.

Where we are now

Up by Friday is young. We'd rather build ten things that are finished than a hundred that half work, and we tell you what isn't there yet. If you're missing something, email it. Right now that literally decides what gets built next.

What we assume

  • Maintenance is the product

Delivering a site is easy. Making sure it's still right in a year is the work, and that's what we're built on.

  • Constraint is a feature

No free colours, no free margins, no free type sizes. That's why the result can't turn ugly, not even in the hands of someone who's never made a site.

  • Speed isn't an extra

Your site loads without JavaScript. That's not technical pride but a guest with bad reception who still sees your menu.

Something to ask or tell us?

We'd like to hear it. It decides what we build next.
